No cable!

Today marks two years ago since we canceled our cable. Time flies when you're not watching TV. Ha I am kidding. I'd be lying if I said we haven't thought about getting cable again in this time. What shows have had me reconsider? 19 kids and counting and Girl meets world (the spin off of Boy meets world) and I think that's basically it. We still have Netflix (LOVE Netflix!) streaming and once in awhile I resubscribe to Hulu Plus. Am I watching less TV without cable? I don't think so. I'm still able to watch my favorite shows during prime time because we have a satellite and what shows aren't on the lower channels I catch up later either on Netflix streaming or on DVDs through the library. I like not having to have to feel like I have to watch something when it's on..I can just wait. Of course that means I come across spoilers but for me a TV show isn't that serious. And to date we have probably saved $1500 since canceling!

  1. We actually just got basic cable again after not having it for like a year and a half. It was actually cheaper to get it after we moved and started setting up our internet connection again. i think what i missed most was the local news in the mornings and evenings. I love listening to NPR but I think I missed the watching aspect of it! :)

  2. My hubby and I also cancelled our TV subscription. We barely watched TV and the recorder was broken too. When we watched stuff, we'd download. But then Netflix finally came to the Netherlands and we LOVE Netflix too!! Who needs TV when you have Netflix!
