Book review!

The Secret Life of Bees by Sue Monk Kidd This is one of those books I'm glad I read before I saw the movie. Mind you I enjoyed the movie but I liked the book better. For those who haven't read the book or seen the movie..the story takes place in the 60's in the south. It's about a motherless child and a highly abusive father who seeks to find out more about her mother that died.

Ten Things We Did (and Probably Shouldn't Have) by Sarah Mlynowski This is a YA fiction so if you're not into YA then keep scrolling. This story is about a girl who after her parents divorce is told she is going to have to move several states away from where she grew up. However through many lies she convinces her dad to let her stay with one of her best friends and her absent mother. She has all the freedom she's ever wanted but does that mean she's happy?

The Notebook Girls by Julia Baskin This is another YA book but it's nonfic..it takes place in NYC pre 9/11. It's a book of notes passed between four friends. It talks about what goes on in their lives.

After by Amy Efaw Yet another YA fiction. This is about a teenaged girl who is very much in denial that she is pregnant. She dumps her baby in a trash..only someone finds out about it.

The Stormchasers by Jenna Blum This book is about a woman who has lost contact with her twin brother who is Bi-polar. She knows he's a storm chaser so she becomes one in hopes that she will somehow find him. But there's more to the story..a twist of sorts that you don't expect.

  2. Hi! I just followed :) From the swap Follow Me #8 My user is snailmailer.

These books all sound really good! I've been dying to read Secret Life of the Bees, I really wish I would have waited to read the book first though. It's funny I saw The Notebook Girls in the bookstore the other day and thought it looked interesting, I'll be sure to check it out now.
