Alaskan No Bake Cookies

Would you believe there is only ONE type of cookie I have ever made from scratch? It's true, really true and they are Alaskan No Bake cookies. I absolutely love these cookies. NOM, freaking nom I tell you. If you like chocolate and peanut butter then you will too. This time around I had Nutella on hand and so I took out the peanut butter and replaced it with Nutella.

2 Cups Sugar
1/2 Cup Milk
1/3 Cup Cocoa
1 Cube of Margarine

Add all the above ingredients to a pot and put the stove top to medium. Once it's boiling, let it boil for a minute. Be sure to stir during this minute or it will burn and they won't turn out so well. Then add..

1/2 Cup Nutella (or peanut butter)
1 Teaspoon vanilla
3 Cups of oats

Mix these ingredients (for this recipe you have to drop them pretty quickly or they start to get clumpy) together and drop on wax paper and chill.

What these cookies lack in appearance they more than make up for in taste.

  1. I tried commenting online, but I don't think it went through, boo!

These look yummy! *drool* Have you ever tried substituting something for the sugar? Knowing me I'd want to eat a whole grip of them and would end up with sugar overload. -_-

    1. Well this one calls for a lot of sugar so I can't imagine it would taste the same. What would one use?

    2. I'm thinking honey or something maybe. I don't know enough about baking to do substitutions, though. :(
