I love all Nicholas Sparks' books (some more than others) and this one I have to admit took me twice of checking out from the library to read. But I made up for that in reading in two sittings the second time I read it. This book has two stories going on...One about a college girl who meets a bull rider who challenges death too often. The other is a story about an elderly man who drives off a cliff and while he awaits his rescue he has hallucinating conversations with his wife that passed away awhile back.. How will be these two stories collide?
I hate to break it to you but this book is not about cakes or cupcakes but a biography about a troubled young girl turned young woman. Cupcake (the author) has the really unfortunate luck of finding her mother dead which isn't the only tragedy she endures during her preteens. Cupcake dabbles with prostitution and drinking and drugs at a very young age. You begin to wonder if she makes it out of this life style alive (but you know she does because she wrote her life story) she is addicted to.
I absolutely loved the art journal part of this book. It honestly made me want to get some paper, scissors and glue out and start working on some pages when I was looking through this book. I will be checking this book out from the library a few times is my guess.
