Book Reviews

I don't even know where I came across this book..I think I saw that the library got the movie and of course I had to read the book before I watched the movie. I read this book in one sitting (Oddly enough I didn't care for the movie at all)..it was one of those books for me. It's about a Jewish family in France during World war II who are sent to a concentration camp..only the four year old boy is locked up in a hiding place and told by the ten year old girl that they will be back to get him. She makes it her mission to ignore all the tragic things going on and to get to her brother and rescue him. Every other chapter is about this family and the other chapters are about a woman whose life is intertwined with this girl's story.

I know that I said I don't generally read books that involve violence but this book fell into my lap. This story is VERY similar to the other book I read about a kidnapping. This story is about a real estate agent who is kidnapped and held hostage for a year by some man that she doesn't know. They stay in a cabin the woods and the kidnapper controls every single thing she does. The ending to this movie is..odd. I'm not sure if the writer got tired of writing the story and just wanted to end it or if she was drunk when she finished writing it.

  1. Sarah's key sound like a nice book to watch. Will include this in the to-read list after I left my job officially :X
